Three Ukrainian hospitals receive high-tech equipment from the NGO Techiia Foundation

From now on, children's hospitals in Rivne, Sumy, and Kharkiv will be able to perform complex surgical operations that were previously inaccessible to patients. In total, the NGO Techiia Foundation spent UAH 2 million on new equipment for these medical institutions.

The launch of the Surgical Center in Rivne

Recently, a surgical center was opened on the basis of Rivne Regional Children's Hospital. But some equipment was at least 30 years old and simply could not work effectively.

The NGO Techiia Foundation responded to the hospital's request and financed the purchase of four devices worth UAH 948,000:

  1. ARC 250 electrosurgical device by BOWA-electronic
  2. radioSURG high-frequency surgical device2200m by Meyer Haake
  3. The KRONOS B23 steam sterilizer by Newmed Srl
  4. QUICKSEAL sealing machine by Newmed Srl

ARC 250 is an indispensable assistant for minimally invasive operations. A wide range of modes allows performing complex operations in urology and reconstructive surgery in newborns with congenital malformations. The device provides an ultra-thin incision and delicate coagulation, which eliminates damage to surrounding tissues.

The high-frequency surgical device allows doctors to work safely near vessels and minimizes risks of operative complications. And sterilization equipment extends the life of instruments and accessories.

"We use the purchased equipment daily. It allowed reducing the time of preparation for surgery and the operation itself, to reduce the risk of operative and postoperative complications. And we have the opportunity to improve the operation techniques. More is yet to come, ”comments Vitaliy Boyko, the Chief Physician of the Rivne Regional Children's Hospital.

The completion of the Center for Neurosurgery in Kharkiv

Last year, the NGO Techiia Foundation provided the Kharkiv city clinical hospital of emergency aid named by prof. O.I. Meshchaninov with the electrosurgical apparatus and skull fixation system.

This year, at the request of the Head of the Center for Pediatric Neurosurgery Oleksandr Dukhovsky, the hospital received an aspirator and accessories for the skull fixation system, which allows fixing the patient lying on the side. The cost of the renovation is UAH 656,000.

This allowed expanding the range of operations performed by the Center for patients from Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk, Luhansk, and Poltava regions. Earlier, children had to be sent to Kyiv for such operations. Therefore, according to doctors, the new equipment will allow performing more than 350 complex operations every year.

Also, the NGO Techiia Foundation purchased sterilization equipment worth UAH 427,200 for the Children's Clinical Hospital of Saint Zinaida in Sumy. With its help, the hospital will be able to sterilize accessories and instruments of equipment in the surgery.

"Three years ago, we started the Techiia Foundation’s projects from a hospital in Kropyvnytskyi, and today we have six medical institutions provided with modern equipment that will save hundreds of patients from different parts of Ukraine. And it’s just the beginning, we continue to work and encourage other businesses to join these projects. Together we can save thousands of lives!” comments Oleg Krot, the Co-Founder of the NGO Techiia Foundation and the Managing Partner of the TECHIIA holding.

It’s worth reminding that since 2018, the NGO Techiia Foundation has financed the renovation of equipment in Ukrainian hospitals by more than UAH 12 million. The Foundation also funds the activities of the unique Eva Inclusion and Correction Center near Kyiv.
