WePlay! Esports will hold an international esports tournament at a ski resort in the Carpathians

WePlay! Bukovel Minor 2020 is the first DPC-event for WePlay! Esports and the third one in Ukraine. For the first time, a DPC tournament in Ukraine will take place outside Kyiv — on the mountain slopes of the tourist complex “Bukovel.” TECHIIA holding that includes the WePlay! Esports company is hosting a tournament of international importance. By doing so, it strengthens the image of Ukraine on the esports map of the world and popularizes the tourism opportunities of the country among the audience.

From 9 to 12 January 2020, the Ukrainian Carpathians will be a Dota 2 battleground of fierce esports confrontation. Dota 2 is a strategy game in which two teams of five players compete with each other. The players control their characters, and the winner is the team that destroys the rivals' main building — Ancient.

WePlay! Bukovel Minor 2020 is part of a tournaments series called Dota Pro Circuit (DPC). It determines the participants of the most significant annual Dota 2 tournament — The International (TI). Last season, the prize pool of TI reached more than $34 million. The participants of the Minor will share $300 thousand and 660 DPC points, the number of which at the end of the season determines those who will go to TI.

WePlay! Esports has earned the privilege to hold a DPC tournament in a tender by Valve, the publisher of Dota 2. Valve evaluated the creative idea, technical capabilities, experience, and portfolio of previously organized events. WePlay! Esports succeeded with its trump card in the esports world — the organization of tournaments in the style of esportainment show. The event in Bukovel will be held in a Christmas theme.

"It is important for us that an esports tournament of such level will take place in the Carpathians. The Dota 2 fans will see Ukraine from a completely new angle. WePlay! Bukovel Minor 2020 is an essential international competition, and we are glad that Ukraine will be in the center of global esports events. We hope that after the tournament, the spectators, and there will be hundreds of thousands of them in different parts of the world, will want to see Ukraine offline," says Oleh Humeniuk, General Manager of WePlay! Esports.
